Every year, Les’ Copaque Production Sdn. Bhd. holds the ‘Karnival Upin & Ipin’, Malaysia’s largest children’s carnival. The carnival is a gesture of appreciation and thanks to the fans that have supported Les’ Copaque Production’s animations over the 12 years that it has been championing local animation.
This year’s carnival had a special highlight. It incorporate a special tribute to Datuk Yasmin Mahmood, CEO of MDEC, for her tireless efforts in growing Malaysia’s animation industry.
Under her watch, Malaysia’s digital economy had contributed some 18.3% of GDP in 2017 and on track to surpass the 20% target in 2020.
Meanwhile, given its widespread popularity, this carnival has been extended to 4 days, starting from 20-23 December 2018 located at MAEPS, Serdang, from 10am to 10pm. Gold sponsors involved in bringing this extraordinary event to life include Bank Rakyat, UniFi, and Tourism Malaysia. Notably, Astro has become a media partner for this popular, much-loved carnival. Les’ Copaque Production’s animation series can be watched on Astro from November 2018.
Themed “Upin & Ipin and Friends”, the carnival will become the launching platform of the film “Upin dan Ipin: Keris Siamang Tunggal”, which will have its cinematic release on the 21st March 2019. With the cooperation of Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) as its distributor and Astro as its media partner, this film has Upin, Ipin, and their well-loved friends meeting up with fairy-tale characters from throughout Asia. Les’ Copaque Games Development Inc. (LCGDI) will also showcase the “Upin & Ipin: Keris Siamang Tunggal” app.
