SDB Supports International Women’s Day With Weekend Bazaar

Society

In conjunction with International Women’s Day last weekend, Selangor Dredging Berhad (SDB) and flakes.my co-hosted a weekend bazaar consisting of small sustainable local business selling their offerings to the SS2 community at The Hub@SS2.

Flakes.my is a café located at The Hub@SS2 that specialises in croissants and has an extensive breakfast and brunch menu.

The bazaar was held at the landscaped gardens of The Hub@SS2 on 7 and 8 March 2020.

Besides the different offerings by the stalls, buskers were also performing sweet melodies to the crowd.

Approximately 600 people attended the bazaar.

One of them, Knotjustheadbands is a social enterprise driven with a purpose to help Malaysian communities. Their headbands are hand-picked from local block batik factories in Kelantan and hand-sewn by Malaysians of different socioeconomic status.

Meanwhile, and all the way from Penang, Merry Me sold local ice-cream flavours like teh tarik and tau sah peah.

Other participating stores included local jewellery brand Psyndrome with an all-female operations team and Qlarai which laid out various art pieces. Qlarai offered decoupaged products which is a form of art craft where cut-outs are pasted on their exquisite products such as bags, clutches, diffuser and accessories.

Located at The Hub@SS2 is also Space Studio, a modern workout space that connects the art of lights and sound with the physical practice of movement. Attractive packages for membership and yoga were made available during the bazaar.

The Hub@SS2 was developed by SDB and is today a 2.51-acre freehold mixed-use commercial development comprising 13 low-rise retail offices and 276 signature suites located within a 44-storey tower.

The project also offers public spaces such as promenade, sheltered courtyards, signature water features and landscape that aim to create a nurturing and conducive environment for people to work in.
