Business Technology

This June, Human Resources (HR) tech company, Grooves will host the world’s first virtual Work Technology Summit to share digital innovation and future-forward insights with entrepreneurs as they navigate a post-COVID-19 business landscape.

Beginning on 30th June and ending on 2nd July, the two-week summit will feature talks by guest speakers Shah Suriye Rubhen, Chief Operating Officer of Lazada Malaysia and Patty McCord, former Chief Talent Officer of Netflix, among others. Moreover, businesses which have created innovative solutions will have an opportunity to showcase their technology on the Grooves platform.

“Despite businesses reopening with COVID-19 seemingly in the rearview, many continue to face challenges as Malaysia attempts to recover from the economic downturn. We aim to give Malaysian entrepreneurs and SME owners a boost through technological innovations and by changing mindsets to become more future-forward,” said Mr. Yukihiro Ikemi, Chief Executive Officer of Grooves.

The global escalation of COVID-19 has caused many businesses, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to suffer immense losses both financially and operationally. Despite the Recovery Movement Control Order (RCMO) enabling businesses across almost all sectors to reopen, many are still facing harsh challenges in making payments while ensuring a healthy cash flow. To accelerate financial recovery and to future-proof themselves against the next crisis, the push for entrepreneurs and business owners to implement more robust virtual processes has become a priority.

Realizing this, Grooves looks to help companies adapt to “the new normal” left behind by the pandemic. Business owners and entrepreneurs who attend will have exclusive access to humanised virtual networking sessions to seek potential funding, meet potential clients, and expand industry knowledge while getting access to over 100 new technological solutions to bolster their enterprises.

At the same time, the Work Technology Summit champions a new solution where influential speakers and online-only conferences can still take place at a time when large in-person gatherings are still not recommended. On that note, attendees will be able to watch guest speakers like former Chief Talent Officer of Netflix, Patty McCord and Chief Operating Officer of Lazada, Shah Suriye Rubhen speak on current workplace and business trends. Topics that will be covered are the evolution of work, how businesses can create workplaces that delivers growth despite disruptive times, the importance of accelerating momentum in the workplace, and how to champion a digitally connected workforce.

Other guest speakers who will take the stage in front of virtual attendees include Pallavi Srivastava (Talent Leader for IBM AP & GCG), Chen Fong Tuan (Samsung Electronics Human Resources (HR) and General Affairs Director), Gary A. Bolles (chair for the Future of Work for Singularity University), Siobhan McHale (author of The Insider’s Guide to Culture Change), Charlene Li (author and speaker), Michael McQueen (a multi-award winning speaker and bestselling author of 8 books)
