Dagang NeXchange Berhad (“DNeX”) has signed a memorandum of understanding (“MoU”) with Universiti Teknologi MARA (“UiTM”) for collaboration in the development and application of the latest technologies.

Under the MOU, DNeX and UiTM will collaborate in development in data analytics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity through information and research personnel exchange as well as industry advisory services and education.


Both parties will also explore application of these technologies in key industries in Malaysia and create opportunities for further collaboration in such commercialisation efforts.

“We are pleased to formalise our partnership with UiTM in the areas of data analytics, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. We believe the partnership will benefit both parties as it can lead to new innovation and capabilities to meet industry demands,” said Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir, Group Managing Director of DNeX.

He said, “We look forward to this partnership. We believe that with our long and deep practical experience in providing technology services to many sectors, we will be able to add significant value to the collaboration. DNeX can also leverage on UiTM’s resources and research capability to help the company stay competitive in today’s technologically advanced, ever-changing business world.”

She said this collaboration creates a unique pathway for UiTM and DNeX to leverage on each other’s strength. UiTM will be able to build future-ready skillsets with access to IR4.0 technologies and in return, UiTM graduates can serve as future workforce contributing to the evolvement of DNeX and the nation.

“We are proud of what the future will entail via this collaboration with DNeX – high demand UiTM graduates contributing to the nation as statisticians, data scientists, data analysts, or actuaries of high calibre,” she added.

DNeX-UiTM partnership is modelled on successful industry-university collaborations that have proven to lead to innovations, higher economic growth, and skilled graduates. It is also in line with the Government’s efforts to nurture industry-university interactions especially in hightechnology sectors.
