Citi Names Lee Lung Nien As South Asia CPB Chairman

Leading global bank, Citi has appointed Lee Lung Nien as the Citi Private Bank (CPB) South Asia chairman, effective Sept 1, 2020.

To be based in Singapore, Lee will be reporting to Steven Lo, CPB Asia Pacific regional head and Amol Gupte, ASEAN head and Citi country officer for Singapore.


In a statement, the group said Lee is currently the chief executive officer of Citi Malaysia, and has over 30 years of working experience in Citi, serving in a number of senior leadership roles across multiple businesses, functional areas and geographies.

Lee will have the primary responsibility of driving business development and new client acquisition.

“Our franchise in South Asia is critical to the success of our business in the region and globally, and his appointment speaks to that.

“The investments we have made here over the past few years have allowed us to focus more closely on serving the unique markets within the region while providing clients with access to the full breadth of our global platform,” said Lo.

Lee is a qualified Fellow Chartered Banker and an active member on a number of boards, including the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers and the Singapore Dance Theatre.

He also serves as the President of Motor Sports Singapore, the governing body of motorsports in the republic.
